Rock’n’Roll wedding inspiration, festive and glittery – The Rosendale, London

Photoshoot-wise, 2018 ended with a proper BANG. And a BAM and a WOW thanks to this incre-e-e-e-e-edible shoot, organised by Kate from Jump the Broom and Chloe from Chloe Lee Photography. We were chatting at a conference for wedding suppliers, Jelly Bean, when Chloe asked me: “Sarah, would you want to be part of a rock’n’roll wedding shoot?” and I was like ERM YES. I had dreamt to work with Chloe for SO LONG, it was a dream come true. I got to work with a lot of people whose work I’d been following for ages, like Paige Joanna, Crown and Glory and Dove and Myrtle! That shoot is a perfect place to start if you are looking for inspiration to have a festive, glittery, alternative, and of course! rock’n’roll wedding.

I was absolutely terrified of having to drive through all of London to get to the venue – I even tried to emotionally blackmail my boyfriend to come with me (it didn’t work) – but everything went well and the cakes and I managed to arrive there in one piece.

The handpainted jacket made by Paige was the starting point of everything. It said galactic and glitters, so I made this huge glittery and galactic wedding cake – with a twist. Instead of having it all be solid same same regular galaxy, I made it all from purples and pinks, adding some silver shimmery goodness and some glitter – ALL the glitter! I also made some cinnamon rolls, of course vegan, and some rocky roads, both of them covered in glitter. Because, honestly, there’s nothing better. I hope this shows couples that it is very cool to have desserts as well as your wedding cake – whether it is a full dessert table with a big cake or just a couple of other options that people can nibble on in between songs on the dancefloor!

Locke and Busby provided awesome light up letters and light up props; Melany Eddy INCREDIBLE jewellery which is modern and elegant but really different from what you usually see – I honestly fell in love with her designs and she made me regret not wanting a wedding band!; we also had FUN AS HELL disco pinatas from Pinyatay. Miath and Co made beautiful custom banners that you can basically hang everywhere; and Dove and Myrtle made incredible flower arrangements that look wild and festive. The bridalwear was lent by House of Ollichon – please look at those jumpsuits!!! And the trousers. Everything was divine and comfortable, and alternative. As much as I love wedding dresses, it it always refreshing to see brides wearing alternative clothings like jumpsuits and separates! The gorgeous veils are, of course, from Crown and Glory, a definite fave for alternative and romantic veils.. Also, we got to take some pics with loads of Christmas trees and isn’t that the dream?!
